I meant to post last night, but I think I had over done the computer, because when I opened up Front Page, the computer froze up… So I rebooted and went to bed instead!
Not too much going on… I’ve been working to add my new adoptions to my adoption site.. I have most of them added on my hard drive, just need to upload it to geocities… But first I need to finish them up on the hard drive.. I am redoing the Ginger pages completely, as to me they look messy. I am going from a regular frame, to an inline frame look.

Jared, Jamie, Josh, and Jacob
On Saturday we went over to Scott and Debbie’s house (Debbie is Joe’s sister). We try to have the kids make Christmas ornaments every year, and we’ve been having the kids do them with the twins. So anyway, we did that on Saturday (Jamie and Jacob spent the night on Friday, and we took them home on Saturday)… The kids make reindeer out of clothes pins. They sure had fun!
We’ve made the decision to homeschool for sure…
The other day I was praying, and I said to the Lord, “If you want me to homeschool, could you please provide us with the money for the curriculum.” … A couple days later we got a letter from the IRS saying that THEY owed US money… They are sending us a check for $800! … When I told Joe about my prayer, he said, “Looks like we’re homeschooling.”
Amazing!
A couple weeks ago my sister in-law gave me a pamphlet she had gotten from the school, when her kids were in kindergarten (She has twins, they are in first grade now)… Anyhoo, it tells about what they will be learning in kindergarten, gives a suggested reading list, and ideas to help your child learn at home. Anyhoo, one of their suggestions was to write out the alphabet or numbers on cards, give them no more than 6 at a time, and have them put them in the right order. Well, we already have flashcards with both numbers (goes to 40) and the alphabet in both lower and upper case. So, last week, during our little class, I gave Jared 1 thru 10 of the numbers (Thinking that giving him 10 would be a real challenge) mixed up, and told him to put them in order…. He had it done in a minute flat!!!!!… So I have him 20 to 29… Another minute!!!… So I have him 30 to 39… Another minute!!!… So, since he is having troubles recognizing his teens, I gave him 11 – 19, thinking that this would get him… NOT!!! It only took him about a minute and a half!
So I decided to move on to letters. Taking the upper case ones (As he doesn’t have all the lower case ones down yet), I gave him A thru F… He got those in about 15 seconds!… So then I gave him the whole flippin’ alphabet… Something has to be a challenge!!! I swear to you, he got them done in 10 minutes, with no mistakes! And that was jabbering the whole time, and taking a potty break in the middle of it…. So, onto the lower case… I gave him the entire lower case… 20 minutes… That’s all it took him. and that was only because the “b”, “d” and “p”s are stumbling blocks for him…. but he did get them in the right place!!!!! Such a smart little man!
I really need to get him the kindergarten curriculum, as this preschool stuff is way too easy. We have that tax money coming in January, so we will buy it then. I can’t wait, I need to figure out how to keep him challenged!
Well, we may have had a little progress with our little Joshy Pooh! Most of the time he gets the colors green and red right!!!! I am so excited about the progress he is making. For his shapes he knows ovals all the time, and gets circles right most of the time. He must like round best!
Some days he doesn’t do school with us, as he doesn’t want to. I don’t push it, as he’s only 3… I don’t want to make it a negative thing. The funny thing is, after a while, as he watches Jared and I have school, most of the time he changes his mind, and comes to join us.
