Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday to my brother, Rudy, and to our nephew, Shandon! I wish you both lots of love and well wishes for a great birthday and year! :D

We had a decent sort of weekend…

The Cougars; Josh, Marshall, and Jared

On Saturday the boys had their junior bowling league at Molalla Bowl… They bowled well, though Joe and I didn’t get to see much of their last game. Joe’s sister, DeeDee, and her husband, Bob, came to watch. They talked to us for the entire 3rd game, so we could watch the game. I had to keep tabs toward the end though, since I was the one writing the scores down at the end of each game.

I almost missed the scores for the 2nd game though, since I was a bit distracted… On the lane next to the one the boys were bowling on, was a group of older boys… They are 14+ and BIG. Well, this kid Dakota (who has been in the news recently), had a mishap… When he bowls he swings his arm back so high, that he almost hits the signs and screens above his head, from behind. It’s crazy!… Anyway, when he swung his arm back, his bowling ball went flying out behind him, and almost hit one of his team-mates. The kid that almost got hit is the kind of kid who has his iPod attached to his ears All. The. Time…. Anyway, he just sat there stunned and kept yelling, “DUDE! …  DUDE! … DUDE!” … Like I said, distracting!

Talking to a fireman.

After we left the bowling alley, we went to the fire station… They were having a fire safety/open house thing… I stayed in the Durango, because my arthritis has really been acting up lately, and my knee was hurting. I didn’t feel like doing any extra walking around.

Anyway, the kids seemed to have fun. The girls came back with balloons and plastic fire hats (the boys consider themselves too old for such things *lol*)… I guess they got to watch a magic show, and a puppet show. They also had little fire safety stations set up, and were giving rides on the fire truck (they didn’t do that, as the lines were too long). Anyway, at one of the fire safety stations the fireman asked the group of kids, “What does it mean when the smoke detector starts beeping?” … And Josh says, “It means Daddy’s cooking.” *rofl* … I guess the fireman smiled and told Joe, “It happens.” *lol*

When we got home I quickly made some cupcakes (for Alicia, for her birthday), which the kids later frosted… And for some STUPID reason I forgot to take pictures of them frosting the cupcakes. *sob* … Then I made sloppy joes for a late lunch/early dinner… For the rest of the day we all just bummed and did nothing. It was awesome! *lol*

Josh and the girls did go outside for a while… They raked all the leaves into a pile and then spent some time running and jumping into it… The leaves are no longer in a pile. *lol* … I guess Buddy got in on the action too, and he would dive head first into the leaves, until he was buried in them. So cute! I wish I could have seen that!

Sunday was a lazy day… We LOVE lazy days here in the Johnson house. *lol* … Other than the usual cooking and sishes thing, we just sat on our lazy rears all day long and did our own thing. Nice. :)

Well, before I head out for the day, I just wanted to give a quick shout out for best weight loss pills … Something I surely need. *sigh*

HI Julie sounds like a great weekend. Happy Birthday belated to your daughter Alicia. How nice you have all the kids rake the leaves! some parents don’t make their kids do anything anymore. I bet they had fun doing it. I didn’t buy Christmas dishes I already have Christmas dishes but it’s a service for 8. Maybe the new dishes I want I can use at Christmas with the Christmas dishes, they are actually winter dishes, because I am buying Ivory colored dishes so they can go with ALL the Holidays and I can mix them in the other sets I have. Do you know how to update wordpress? I was reading about it, but I am afraid to do it. Is it hard? I’m so scared but need to do it. Let me know if it’s hard and scary! I worry I have postings since 2005! Have a great day! hugs

*giggle* LOVE the comment about what it means when the smoke alarm goes off! Thats just to cute, and umm…well it has happened around here to, only it’s ME who is cooking. LOL

I would LOVE to get photos of kids playing in a pile of leaves, that would be so cool. Not that we ever have pile’s of leaves around here, since we don’t rake them…living in the country is NICE course we don’t have big enough trees around the house to bother with them anyway…but if we did, I might have to borrow a kid or two from somewhere just so I could get photos. :)

Glad you had a good weekend. :)

I’m actually bummed I didn’t get to help with the fire safety training this year – it is one of my favorite parts of being a firefighter. (Especially when little kids say things like, “but you are a girl!”)

It sounds like you all had a nice weekend!
