Just Another Day in Paradise
Posted in 1 :: Joe, Post Count and tagged with Church on 01/21/2010 01:01 pm by JulieNot much going on around here… There never is mid-week. Joe does his work thing, and we do the homeschool/housework thing… It may be very boring to blog about, but it makes us happy, and that’s what’s important, right? … So here we are, just another day in our paradise.
Joe and I are thinking of switching churches… We’ve been going to this big church in town off and on since summer (when Joe’s work schedule allows us to), but Joe is not happy there… The services are great. The pastor does excellent sermons, and I love the music… But so far NO ONE has introdused themselves to us. (We’ve never even met the pastor.) … The kids like it there, but we need to ALL feel comfortable there.
There used to be a Baptist church in town, but we noticed that the sign in front has changed. It now says “Grace Church”… I tried looking up their website, to see if the doctrine is sound, but their website is pretty… Ummm… Uncomplete. *lol* … Has anyone heard of a Grace Church before? Do you know about the doctrine…
… You know… I think my parents were married in a Grace Church in San Luis Obispo, and that our family was going there when I was born… I wonder if it’s the same type of church???
Before I go, I just wanted to give a quick shoutout for cigars online … Got a new baby in the future, and need to pass some out? Check them out…

I know what you mean, seems we do the same thing a lot of the time, which doesn’t leave us much to blog about. LOL Especially in the winter months, when I don’t get out with the animals much. But if you are happy, then thats all that matters. Good luck finding the right church.

I did a little digging and they are affiliated with the CBNW – http://www.cbnw.org The churches Eric pastored in Oregon were affiliated with…so obviously we think their doctrine is right on!
I don’t recognize the pastor’s name from our years in Oregon. Hope that helps.

“Grace church” sounds like a name to me and not like a denomination or organisation. Maybe you could just go there and look for written information. If they are okay, they should be open about their doctrine.

I’ve never heard of Grace Church before.
We enjoy our little homeschool habitat too. We don’t mind hearing about yours at all. It just shows more things that we have in common.

The church you are going to now sounds a lot like the one Will and I went to when we lived in North Carolina. They had an amazing music service and sermons, but it was just too big for me. I never did really make any friends there even though most of the people were really nice. It was nondenominational but I read their doctrine before I went there and it was pretty much Baptist.
The church I am going to is the one I grew up going to and it’s pretty small and I am the youngest adult there. I feel obligated to go there because I grew up in that church, but I really long to find one where I can make friends. It’s something I really need to pray about..ok..sorry this comment was so long LOL. I hope you all find a church that makes you feel welcome!
