Scarred for Life

I think I scarred Alicia for life last night. *lol* …

A few weeks ago I got a new debit card in the mail. Joe told me that, since it was payday, he would just take it to the bank with him to get it activated when he went in to deposit his paycheck… Which he did… Only he kept forgetting to give me the card back, even though I asked about it a few times.

So anyway, last night I went digging through his wallet to find my card, as my old one is expired… What I found annoyed me… Joe had it in his wallet long enough to get it all grubby looking, like all his cards are.

I don’t do grubby.

So I sat at my desk with my card, the windex, and a rag, trying to clean the card off… Only the “grub” wouldn’t come off. (I also noticed that the gold had half rubbed off the lettering from being in his over-stuffed wallet… Also very annoying… The OCD coming out in me)…

Anyway, I was getting more and more frustrated that I couldn’t get the thing clean, when Alicia came up and asked me what I was doing.

Frustrated, I said, “I’m trying to clean Daddy’s butt-juice off my debit card.”

Alicia’s face turned 3 shades of green and she said, “Butt-juice?!” (Gosh, I am SUCH a bad mommy!)

She now thinks that butt-juice is a real thing, and refuses to touch my debit card… I was too busy laughing to correct her…. I told Joe what I said, and I don’t think he’ll be able to stop laughing long enough to explain it to her either. *lol*

For the record, I wasn’t able to get it all off my card… In fact, I now need a new debit card. … When the windex didn’t work I brought out the ajax and accidently rubbed some of the stip thing off the back of the card. *blush*

OCD much?

Goodness… I am going to warp my kids! … Not to mention give them a potty mouth! … Mommy should get her mouth washed out with soap!

Bad Mommy award goes to me…

Amanda sure is a funny little drama queen! … The other day the kids were outside, playing in the yard (on the swing set, I think)… Pretty soon Jared came in. He told me that Amanda had been stung by some kind of bug. He said, “She’s OK. She wasn’t crying outside, but she’s in the living room trying to work up a cry right now.” … A moment later I hear Amanda start to cry hysterically, and she came running to me with big ole crocodile tears, and shows me where she got stung on her hand…

Being the bad, and easily amused, mom that I am, I played along with her saying, “Oh no! Are you OK? Poor Amanda!” while I scooped her up into my lap. I asked Jared to get an ice cube and a washcloth. I put the ice cube into the washcloth and told Amanda to hold it against the sting, telling her it would make it feel better… Within seconds the crying stopped and she smiled at me saying, “That worked great! It doesn’t hurt anymore! … Can I eat the ice cube now?”

I know, I know… If I was a good mom I would have called her out on it, and made sure she uunderstood that lying about it hurting wasn’t a good thing too do… But I never said I was a good mom. *lol* … I just took advantage of getting to baby her a little, since the kids are QUICKLY outgrowing the need for me to baby them. *sigh*

We were going to go pick the boys up at Debbie’s yesterday, but that didn’t happen. *sigh* … Debbie called Joe at work and asked if they could stay one more night, and Joe said yes (without asking me)… But we’ll be going over there tonight to help put some topsoil onto their yard, and the boys WILL BE coming home with me…. I sure miss them!

Since the girls didn’t go, Joe and I took them out to a special dinner at Jasper’s. They were glad to get some special attention… They were feeling that it was unfair that the boys get to stay the night there, and they don’t… But I’m sure glad they are home! … I did let them have a slumber party in the living room both nights, and they got special treats while watching their movies, so they haven’t been too unhappy… In fact, I think they rather enjoyed their time alone with just me… Or so Alicia keeps telling me. :D

So you remember the trouble I was having with Flickr? How I couldn’t get signed onto any of my Flickr accounts? … Well, it seems that my new router doesn’t like the Flickr sign-on page… Well, at least the one on my laptop.

You see… I borrowed Jared’s laptop and was able to sign right on to Flickr, and he (of course) uses the same wireless router that I do. So I figured it had something to do with my laptop… I Emailed the Flickr help desk, and they had me try all sorts of things, like turning off my firewall and unplugging and replugging my modem and my router, but NOTHING worked. I kept getting the same message… It wouldn’t even work in foxfire.

So today, in a last attempt to get signed on, I unplugged everything from the laptop and took it over to the modem and directly pulled into that, totally bypassing the wireless router and then tried signing onto Flickr… And it worked. (I also found out that I have to be directly connected to the modem to upgrade my Flickr account to Pro.)

But, thankfully, I can still upload my photos to Flickr while using using the wireless router… Soooo… Every time I want to switch accounts (since I have my digi-scrap flickr account, and all the kids’ accounts), I’ll have to go plug into the modem to sign on… Annoying? Yes… But at least I can sign on, and that’s the important thing!

Playing Catch

The kids and I seem to be playing “catch” with this darn cold… First they got it, but when they started feeling better, I got it… Then when I started feeling better, they got it again. Now they are feeling better, and I have it again… Let’s hope it ends here, and they don’t get it again!

I’m not feeling too awful, but for some reason I am really dizzy. I’m not on any meds at the time, so it can’t be that. It’s not painful, but it sure is annoying! *lol*

On Saturday we went out to see Joe’s parents, so we could give Jim a Father’s Day gift… Joe went to the elk farm and bought Jim a summer sausage made from elk meat (ick). Jim has been wanting to get one, and we never usually know what to get him… But MAN, it was expensive! It was only 6-7 inches long, and it cost $20!!!! That’s just INSANE. We won’t be buying Jim anymore elk summer sausage!

After spending 2-3 hours at Jim and Elvina’s, just chatting and showing them our vacation pictures, we went to the church on 10 o’clock hill… Joe’s sister, DeeDee, had shown up at Jim and Elvina’s too, so all 9 of us went… The church was having a fund-raising dinner and silent auction to raise money for the church, and Jim wanted to treat us all to dinner… It was a ham dinner with scallopped potatoes, with strawberry shortcake for dessert. (Not that I ate the strawberry shortcake… I’m not a strawberry fan… But Jared sure loved it. :D )

We were going to try a different church on Sunday, but we ended up going back to Foothills Community… Joe didn’t get off work until almost 9 am, so there was no way we would be able to make it to a 9:30 Sunday School at a smaller church. Foothills has a Sunday School during the 10:30 service, which is very nice… So we made the kids happy by going there.

We still didn’t see the regular pastor, as he is still on vacation. We heard the same man who preached last Sunday, and he delivered an excellent sermon again. It was on David, Jonathon, and Jonathon’s son, whose name I can neither pronounce or spell. *lol*

I did notice something odd… Hardly anyone brought a Bible to church with them. When the man wanted to show a verse, he would put the verse up on the screen… At Lifegate we always followed along with Pastor Jerry in our own Bibles…

They don’t use hymnals either… Not that that’s a big deal or anything… They put the songs up on the screen, and they have a full band up there. The songs are awesome, but I haven’t recognised a single one of them. *lol*

I made Joe a roast for his Father’s Day dinner, and he happily ate three plate fulls. *lol* That man does love a good roast… After we got home from church he spent the entire rest of the day in bed, snoozing and watching TV… Include that with a big dinner, and I would guess we had a very happy, content Daddy on Father’s Day. *lol*

I still can’t get my laptop to sign into Flickr, not even on foxfire… So right now I have Jared’s laptop set up next to mine, and I’m posting his pictures to Flickr as I write… Since I can easily get his computer signed on to Flickr, the problem is obviously my computer, and not Flickr… So annoying!

BUT… There is hope… Joe has promised me a new desktop computer with our next tax returns. (I will never buy a laptop again! Too many headaches with the two we have.) … Then I’ll just use this laptop when we go on vacation or something.

I don’t know how Jared can stand his laptop… MAN, is that thing sluggish! … I don’t know why. It has the same processor as this one, and not half as many things installed on it… It may be able to get onto Flickr, but it’s taking AGES to get things posted onto Flickr… I asked him how he could handle it, and he said, “Very patiently.”

This and That

Quote of the Day:

Amanda: “Mommy, my ear hurts. When I hear things it goes flippy-flap”

Uhg… I am so annoyed right now… For some unknown reason I can’t sign into Flickr… I can’t get into any of my Flickr accounts. I can sign into yahoo alright, but when I click the “sign in” button in Flickr I get a message that says, “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” … It’s SOO annoying, because I have some pictures to post. I also want to add some to my ancestry one, and I digi-scrapped 6 layouts today that I would like to post to my digi-scrap gallery. *sigh*

You know, I just had a thought… Maybe I should install foxfire, and try it in another browser. Maybe that would work? … I’ll try that when I’m done posting.

There’s a couple things I keep forgetting to write about, so I’ll get those out of the way first…

For one, Josh lost another tooth. (I would show you, but I can’t get into Flickr. *lol*)… Anyway, this is his 6th lost tooth, and he lost it on the 12th (last Friday).

I was glad that he finally lost it because the other tooth had come in already, just behind it. It was pushing the baby tooth forward, so that it no longer pointed down, but it pointed straight forward instead… I think it was bugging him too. *lol*

Also, last Thursday (the 11th) we took the kids to the pool again… This may be the last time we get to go until the fall. They change the hours around in the summer, and now it won’t work with Joe’s schedule. The only one we would be able to get to is Friday evening, but that’s only for teens… I mean, we could go on the weekend, but it would be CRAZY busy then, and that’s so not our thing!

We did buy Alicia a new suit anyway… Mainly because if we didn’t buy it now, we’d have to wait until next spring… And we couldn’t do that, trust me! *lol* … She went on a growth spurt, and half her rear was hanging out the back of her suit. We certainly don’t want to go there! … Anyway, the one she picked out is really cute, and has one of those little skirt things on it. She looks adorable in it.

Joe took our trailer down to the RV repair place today. They are going to fix the leak on the back of the toilet… Yay! … I’ll be glad of that when we go camping next month and I’m able to use the water. *lol* … Joe also noticed that one of the tires is very bald and that wires or something are hanging out, so we’ll have to buy a new tire before we go camping too… But that can wait until the first paycheck next month, as it’s something Joe can change himself.

Well… Not much else going on. Just housework, digi-scrapping, and working on the kids’ vacation albums… I finished Alicia’s yesterday and will start Josh’s tomorrow.

Catch ya’ll on the flip side!
