Scarred for Life

A few weeks ago I got a new debit card in the mail. Joe told me that, since it was payday, he would just take it to the bank with him to get it activated when he went in to deposit his paycheck… Which he did… Only he kept forgetting to give me the card back, even though I asked about it a few times.
So anyway, last night I went digging through his wallet to find my card, as my old one is expired… What I found annoyed me… Joe had it in his wallet long enough to get it all grubby looking, like all his cards are.
I don’t do grubby.
So I sat at my desk with my card, the windex, and a rag, trying to clean the card off… Only the “grub” wouldn’t come off. (I also noticed that the gold had half rubbed off the lettering from being in his over-stuffed wallet… Also very annoying… The OCD coming out in me)…
Anyway, I was getting more and more frustrated that I couldn’t get the thing clean, when Alicia came up and asked me what I was doing.
Frustrated, I said, “I’m trying to clean Daddy’s butt-juice off my debit card.”
Alicia’s face turned 3 shades of green and she said, “Butt-juice?!”
(Gosh, I am SUCH a bad mommy!)
She now thinks that butt-juice is a real thing, and refuses to touch my debit card… I was too busy laughing to correct her…. I told Joe what I said, and I don’t think he’ll be able to stop laughing long enough to explain it to her either. *lol*
For the record, I wasn’t able to get it all off my card… In fact, I now need a new debit card.
… When the windex didn’t work I brought out the ajax and accidently rubbed some of the stip thing off the back of the card. *blush*
OCD much?
Goodness… I am going to warp my kids! … Not to mention give them a potty mouth! … Mommy should get her mouth washed out with soap!
Bad Mommy award goes to me…
Amanda sure is a funny little drama queen! … The other day the kids were outside, playing in the yard (on the swing set, I think)… Pretty soon Jared came in. He told me that Amanda had been stung by some kind of bug. He said, “She’s OK. She wasn’t crying outside, but she’s in the living room trying to work up a cry right now.” … A moment later I hear Amanda start to cry hysterically, and she came running to me with big ole crocodile tears, and shows me where she got stung on her hand…
Being the bad, and easily amused, mom that I am, I played along with her saying, “Oh no! Are you OK? Poor Amanda!” while I scooped her up into my lap. I asked Jared to get an ice cube and a washcloth. I put the ice cube into the washcloth and told Amanda to hold it against the sting, telling her it would make it feel better… Within seconds the crying stopped and she smiled at me saying, “That worked great! It doesn’t hurt anymore! … Can I eat the ice cube now?”
I know, I know… If I was a good mom I would have called her out on it, and made sure she uunderstood that lying about it hurting wasn’t a good thing too do… But I never said I was a good mom. *lol* … I just took advantage of getting to baby her a little, since the kids are QUICKLY outgrowing the need for me to baby them. *sigh*
We were going to go pick the boys up at Debbie’s yesterday, but that didn’t happen. *sigh* … Debbie called Joe at work and asked if they could stay one more night, and Joe said yes (without asking me)… But we’ll be going over there tonight to help put some topsoil onto their yard, and the boys WILL BE coming home with me…. I sure miss them!
Since the girls didn’t go, Joe and I took them out to a special dinner at Jasper’s. They were glad to get some special attention… They were feeling that it was unfair that the boys get to stay the night there, and they don’t… But I’m sure glad they are home! … I did let them have a slumber party in the living room both nights, and they got special treats while watching their movies, so they haven’t been too unhappy… In fact, I think they rather enjoyed their time alone with just me… Or so Alicia keeps telling me.
So you remember the trouble I was having with Flickr? How I couldn’t get signed onto any of my Flickr accounts? … Well, it seems that my new router doesn’t like the Flickr sign-on page… Well, at least the one on my laptop.
You see… I borrowed Jared’s laptop and was able to sign right on to Flickr, and he (of course) uses the same wireless router that I do. So I figured it had something to do with my laptop… I Emailed the Flickr help desk, and they had me try all sorts of things, like turning off my firewall and unplugging and replugging my modem and my router, but NOTHING worked. I kept getting the same message… It wouldn’t even work in foxfire.
So today, in a last attempt to get signed on, I unplugged everything from the laptop and took it over to the modem and directly pulled into that, totally bypassing the wireless router and then tried signing onto Flickr… And it worked. (I also found out that I have to be directly connected to the modem to upgrade my Flickr account to Pro.)
But, thankfully, I can still upload my photos to Flickr while using using the wireless router… Soooo… Every time I want to switch accounts (since I have my digi-scrap flickr account, and all the kids’ accounts), I’ll have to go plug into the modem to sign on… Annoying? Yes… But at least I can sign on, and that’s the important thing!
