Well, what do you know… I am now 39 years old… Only one year left until the dreaded FOUR-OH … OMWord, I so don’t want to turn 40. I really, really, really, really, really, really don’t want to turn 40. It makes my stomach upset just to think about it. *lol*

Despite the fact that I am teetering on the top of the hill, I still managed to have a good weekend.

On Saturday we of course went to the bowling alley for the boys’ league. It was a position round, and their team won 2 out of the 3 games… They could have won all three, but their team-mate, Marshall, was having a REALLY had day. On the game they lost, Marshall only got a 50 (his average is 89). If he had played as well as he normally does, they for sure would have won all three.

Jared and Josh, on the other hand, both bowled really well. I think Jared is out of his slump, much to his happiness. In fact, while he still didn’t beat his top game of 170, he managed to beat his top series (the total of all 3 games together). His top series was 342, but on Saturday he bowled a 390… He also got his first turkey (3 strikes in a row), but sadly it was during practice, so it didn’t count. *lol* Poor Jared! … He almost got a hambone (4 strikes in a row), but he only got 9 down on the 4th one… One pin shy. *lol*

On a side note, Debbie told me that they call it a turkey because in the olden days they used to give you a turkey if you got 3 strikes in a row. How funny is that! *lol*

When the league game was over, the boys (and the twins) went home with Joe’s mom to spend the night… As for Joe, me, and the girls… We had our own plans.

The first thing we did was to go to Clackamas, to where we got the boys’ bedroom furniture. We’ve been meaning to get Josh a bedstand to match his bedroom set, but until now we haven’t had the extra cash for it… And we were quite upset to see that they changed the color of the stain they use!!! The boys’ furniture is a light wood color (Jared already had his bedstand), but now they are using a dark stain. It would have looked terrible. *sigh* … So we went to a couple other furniture stores and were able to match the color of the wood very closely, so it “mostly” matches… But with Jared’s, the handles on the bedstand match the ones on his dresser… I wish Josh’s did too. … But Josh didn’t care. He loves it… Guess he’s not as OCD as me! (We ended up getting the bedstand at Bedmart, which is where we got the girls beds and dressers back in ’07.)

After we picked up the bedstand we went to Round Table pizza to eat, and then we went to the movie theater at the Clackamas Town Center to watch a movie. We took the girls to see the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. (It was really cute.) … We haven’t been to the Town Center since before they remodeled it, and OMWord! It looks so different! The movie theater is huge now!

As for yesterday (my birthday), Joe took the girls to church, and then after hitting McDonald’s for lunch, went to Scott and Debbie’s place to watch the Superbowl… Joe’s parents went there to watch the game too, and brought the boys there for Joe to pick up…

I was able to have the entire day all to myself. … I played on the computer some, and I watched a few episodes of Star Trek – Enterprise… iTunes had it on sale for $12.99 a season (which is a really good price, considering that it has 26 episodes in the first two seasons), so I thought I would give it a chance… And I am glad I did. I really like it. … I wouldn’t call myself a “Trekkie”, but I do love me some Star Trek.

Well, must run… See ya on the flip side!

… Mainly because I have no idea why I am even bothering posting. … Other than lots of homeschool lessons, there is nothing of interest going on in the Johnson household. Very boring stuff.

The kids have, once again, asked for an extra week of vacation (for Christmas break), so they are busy doing extra work so that they can earn it… But instead of taking the extra week before the scheduled week, they want to take it after Christmas… That’s because they want more time to enjoy their Christmas presents before going back to school. *lol* So we will be doing extra work through next Friday, and then taking 3 weeks off. We won’t be back to school until January 11th… Jared’s excited that his birthday will be the last day of vacation.

Joe may be taking the girls on a “date” on Friday… Depending on the weather. (There is a possibility of freezing rain, and if that happens, they won’t go… So the girls don’t know yet, just in case.)… Since Joe took the boys camping in September, he’s been promising the girls that he will take them to the movies. Well the new Disney Princess movie (Princess and the Frog, or something like that) comes out tomorrow, and the girls would LOVE to see that… He would take them while the boys and I were at the bowling alley for cosmic bowl… I hope it works out, for the girls’ sake.

Well, I guess I better get back to the kids… They are working on their Bible lessons right now.

And quiet prevailed… For 23 hours.

I had the house to myself for 23 hours, and it was so nice! … I needed to wrap the kids’ Christmas presents, so Joe took the kids over to his parents’ house to spend the night. I guess there was a college football game on TV on Thursday night between the Oregon Beavers and the Oregon Ducks, to see which team would play in some sort of bowl thingy. Jim (Joe’s Dad) had wanted Joe to watch the game with him, so Joe decided to go and just crash there until he went to work (he leaves the house at 2:30-ish in the morning).

So anyway, they left at around 4 pm on Thursday, and I had a nice, quiet evening all to myself. I mainly just snuggled under a quilt and watched some movies… Then on Friday morning I spent aprox. 3 hours wrapping presents… Yes, I am a SLOW wrapper. *lol* … Normally I have the kids stay in their rooms while I wrap, but that drives them batty after a while (since it takes me SO LONG to wrap them *lol*). This was much less painful for them.

On his way home from work yesterday, Joe stopped by his parents’ house to pick the girls up and bring them home… Jim and Elvina wanted the boys to stay one more night so that they could take them to the high school basketball game (which bores the girls, so they never go). Jim and Elvina are going to bring the boys to the bowling alley this morning, in time for their league. It will be nice to see them.

Since we were boy-free last night (not counting Daddy), the girls and I snuggled up and watched a few episodes of “H2O – Just Add Water”, which the kids love (OK, I admit it, I love that teeny-bopper show too *lol*). Gotta love a mermaid flick, right?

Not much else going on… I’ve been doing some scrapping, but I haven’t loaded them onto Flickr yet. I may try to do that before we head to the bowling alley… Joe is treating us girls to breakfast there, before the boys bowl in their league.

Well, I should run… But before I go, just wanted to give a quick shout out for faucet… I would like to get a new one for the kitchen. One that has one of those hose things attached. I used to have one in the Portland house, and I miss it!

Train Quilt Panel

When I went to get the fabric for the quilt I am making for my friend’s baby, I saw this panel and decided to use that, instead of making a “real” quilt… I just couldn’t resist that train! It’s soooo cute! … Although I think I annoyed the fabric lady at Walmart. You see, it is technically already quilted with a thin batting in-between and another train fabric on the back… But I am going to add a thicker batting, with my own fabric for the back. I like to do this so I can add the ribbon “tags” around the outside of the quilt… Babies love to play with the tags!… Plus, babies need a thicker snuggle blanket than what they did.

Anyway, I cut my ribbons into small strips and started pinning them around the panel, getting ready to sew the tags on with the new batting, when I noticed it…

There is a hole, about the size of a dime, in the middle of the bottom train.

Talk about annoying!

So now I am going to have to take the panel back to Walmart and exchange it for another one… Let’s hope they don’t think I’m the one who put the hole in it!… You do think they will let me exchange it, right? (Please say yes!)

So, there goes my plans to get the quilt done this weekend. *sigh* … Better get to Walmart soon!

I got a call from Joe a couple hours ago… I didn’t get to talk long, because his phone went out of range, so I don’t really know how the hike went, but he sounded cheerful, like they were having a good time… BUT… He had to run to the store (which is where he was leaving when he called) … Turns out that I forgot to pack the hotdogs in the cooler for him! *oops* … I feel so bad! … The sad thing is, when I went to pack the cooler, the hot dogs were the first things I thought of. I told myself not to forget them, but I wanted to get the water, soda, and milk in first, and then add the hot dogs, etc after… Well, that was the last thought I had about those hotdogs. *lol* … They had planned on doing hotdogs last night and then do hamburgers (which Scott provided) tonight, but they just switched plans and are having the hotdogs tonight…. Bad wife award goes to me!

The girls loved the movies… They watched Milo and Otis first, and you should have heard all the giggling coming from the living room. *lol* They loved it so much that Amanda is already watching it a second time, right now… As for the Hannah Montana movie, Alicia called it “perfect”.

The girls are having a lot of fun. Alicia said it was nice that there were no boys in the house, and they’ve been playing together so nicely… They took a LONG bath together this morning, and I heard a whole lot of giggling and splashing coming from in there… I hope Alicia cleaned up after herself well (she said she did), because I am currently too afraid to go look! *rofl*

Before I head out, just want to give a quick shout out for Mopar parts… Catch ya on the flipside!

We had a first tonight… Jared babysat his brother and sisters for the first time, while Joe and I went shopping at Walmart… I know, I know… He’s not 12 years old yet, and I guess if we were good parents, we wouldn’t have left them yet… But Jared is almost 12, and to be honest, he’s so responsible that we would have trusted him to babysit for a long time now… Jared is like John Boy on the Waltons. He tends to want to “take care” of the girls, and makes sure everyone is safe and following the rules when they are out playing, or are with Joe’s parents, etc.

Anyway, they all did great. Josh (who was more like a co-babysitter) made them all dinner… Something that Josh LOVES to do. *lol* … By the time we got home the house, as well as the kitchen, was spotless. Jared cleaned the kitchen, and the girls had picked up their doll mess from the living room. Their rooms were clean too.

Joe sure liked doing the shopping kid free… While we were on the way home Joe was saying that we should do this more often… And when we got home, the kids were saying that we should do this more often. *lol* … I think they enjoyed this parent free time a little too much, huh?

Joe and the boys are going on a “men only” camping trip this weekend with Scott and Jacob… All three of my “men” are quite excited about it too. … They are going camping at Silver Creek State Park, and on Saturday they are going on a 7 mile walk/hike to see the ten (I think) waterfalls… I wish I could make it on a 7 mile hike, as it’s beautiful there and I would love to see all the waterfalls… But I know that I would NEVER make it, and neither would Amanda… Anyway, they are really going to “rough it”, as Joe is not taking the trailer. They are going to tent it, and the camping site doesn’t have any hook-ups… I think they are even excited about that. *lol* True men!

As for us girls, we bought the girls a couple new DVDs, which they haven’t seen yet. I’m going to surprise them with them tomorrow, after the guys leave. We got The Adventures of Milo and Otis from the $5 rack and the new Hannah Montana movie, which they are both DYING to see. I think I may have to put ear plugs in when I show the girls, because I’m sure that there will be a whole lot of excited screaming going on when they get that DVD. *lol*

As for me, I will be doing some quilting… A very good friend is due to have her fourth baby boy on October 10th, and I want to get his quilt made and shipped before he makes an appearance… I’ll make sure to show you the quilt after Jenn receives it.

Well, off to watch either a Monk or a Psych (haven’t decided yet *lol*) … But before I go, just wanted to give a quick shout out to the business plan consultant. Night all!

On Thursday we took the kids back to the pool… While we were in route, we decided to call Debbie (Joe’s sister) and invite them to come join us, and they excepted (They live just a couple minutes from the aquatic center).

The kids were thrilled to have their cousins there to swim with, and all 6 of them had a great time… I don’t think they were ready to leave at 5 pm when all the kids started coming for their lessons.

It was nice for me too, because I got someone to talk to while Joe and the kids swam. *lol* Debbie and I sat on the bleachers and chatted while we watched them swim.

At 5 pm we bid them goodbye, and then buckled the kids into the Durango… We were all getting hungry, and trying to decided what to make for dinner. Both Joe and I decided that we would just eat out, because we hadn’t pulled anything out for dinner, and everyone was pretty hungry. We also decided just to grab something fast and take it home to eat it.

Now there isn’t much to choose from in Molalla, for fast food. You either have McDonald’s or Subway. Well, not a one of us wanted the golden arches, so Subway was decided and we headed over there… When we pulled into the parking lot, who should be there but Debbie and the kids! (Scott hadn’t come to the pool because he had still been at work when they left.) The kids all thought that was cool, and while I stayed in the car, they all went in with Joe to say hi to Jamie and Jacob while Joe got our dinner.

As you know, I spent the entire day on Friday painting Josh’s room, then I fell into bed exhausted by 9 pm…

Josh loves his wolf border!

On Saturday I got the wallpaper trim up in Josh’s room… I think it turned out pretty nice! I can tell that Josh loves it, if him kissing the wallpaper trim is any indication!

After Joe got home and I BBQd some chicken, potatoes, and corn-on-the-cobb for a late lunch, Joe and I got Josh’s furniture put back in his room. After the heavy stuff was in the room, Joe headed to the bed and his TV set, and Josh and I started getting his toys and things organized and put in his room… We only got around half of it done, because I was quickly getting out of the mood. *lol* … I convinced him that it would be a good time to settle in with a movie (by then it was around 8:30), and I ended up going to bed early on Saturday as well.

I woke up early on Mother’s Day, and turned on iTunes and vegged in front of an episode of “In Plain Sight” while waiting for the kids to wake up… Joe was at work, though he did send me a “Happy Mother’s Day” text.

After all the kids were awake, Josh and I got the rest of his things put away in his bedroom… I don’t have any pictures yet, because we haven’t had a chance to hang his pictures/posters yet… But as soon as we do (Joe always helps with that), I will be sure to take some and post them… I also need to make the valance for his window, and runners for the dresser and the bedstand we want to buy him (his old side table lost a leg *lol*).

Joe got off work at 8 am (he requested to get off early), and he went to Wal*Mart to pick up a few groceries (and a last minute Mother’s Day gift *lol*)… When we were last at Wal*Mart, I had pointed out a couple DVDs on the $5 rack that I wouldn’t mind having (Ever After and Aquamarine), so he picked those up along with Bedtime Stories for the kids to give me as a gift… I think he grabbed that one because he’s a big Adam Sandler fan. *lol* … But I did want to see that one too.

Debbie, Alicia, Amanda, and Jamie

At around noon we packed up the Durango and headed to Feyrer Park (a campground which is 5 miles from the house). We met Scott, Debbie, and the kids there for a Mother’s Day BBQ. We had a really nice time, just chatting and relaxing while the kids played to their hearts’ content.

You can tell that the kids are all growing up… It used to be that the 6 of them would spend a majority of their time on the playground equipment, but not anymore… Now only Alicia and Amanda are interested, while the boys and the twins would rather do things like volleyball… It’s kind of sad to see them leaving the joys of childhood behind… *sigh*

After a couple hours we put everything away in the SUVs and walked down to the Molalla River. We stayed there for a while, and let the kids play along the river bank, while we talked some more… We headed home at around 4:15.

There should be 5 candles. *lol*

Sunday was also Cuddles’ 5th birthday … It doesn’t seem possible that we’ve had her for almost 5 years now (we got her when she was 6 weeks old)! … As per tradition, we had to celebrate her birthday with a can of soft cat food and a singing of Happy Birthday. *lol* … The kids would be very upset if we forgot to celebrate her birthday… In fact, they had been telling her “Happy Birthday” all day long.

And yes, Buddy got a can of soft food too.

So far, Buddy hasn’t had anymore “spraying issues”, but we aren’t taking any chances. We’ve moved his “snip-snip” appointment from the 23rd to this coming Saturday… That will give us 2 weeks of observation before our vacation, to see if we’ve nipped the problem in the bud… Or he may be spending the week in the bathroom, which I really don’t want to do, but I will if we have to.

For now, he’s being watched All. The. Time… At all times one of the kids is on “Buddy Duty”, and if we’re all too busy to watch him, he goes in the kennel.

Here’s praying this ends soon!

In other (bad) news, we’re having troubles with the Durango… For a while now it’s been making some strange noises… Since we’ll be pulling the trailer quite a ways on our vacation, Joe wanted to get it looked at before we headed out, so last night he took it to a place in town. They messed around and told him it was his transmission. I guess where he took it don’t do transmissions or something, so they suggested a place in Sandy… When Joe went to leave Eriksons, the Durango started making a terrible noise… To make a long story short, the people from Canby had to have the Durango towed to their shop. *sigh*

What really sucks is that it’s going to cost $500 ALONE, just to have them take the transmission out and see what’s wrong. Plus we’ll have the cost of the repair on top of that. *sigh* … If our vacation wasn’t already reserved and paid for, we probably wouldn’t (shouldn’t) go… Mainly because the money for the car repair has to come out of our line of credit… It feels wrong to be going on vacation when we can’t afford to fix the car.

BUT… We haven’t had a “real” vacation since before the kids were born. We’ve gone on a lot of camping trips (4 days at the most, but usually just weekend trips), but this is the first time we’ll be gone for an entire week, and we had lots of things planned (which I will get into AFTER we come home, the internet being what it is)… The kids are REALLY looking forward to it, and we feel like we can’t cancel now… *sigh*

Pontiac Grand Am

Anyway, since our only vehicle got towed, Joe had to rent a car from Ericksons… I guess they were out of the $25 a night cheap cars, so Joe ended up with a red Pontiac Grand Am (for $35 a night)… When Joe got home the kids ran to the door to see what car Daddy had rented, and Amanda came back to me with a snicker in her voice…

“Daddy bought a girl’s car!”

Snicker

Today I feel Content
Reading: “Love’s Unending Legacy” by Janette Oke
Today it was cloudy (& muggy), and it’s currently 69º

Joshy is not the only one who’s collecting bugs now. The epidemic has spread. Now Jared and Alicia are after the critters as well. *sighs* All three are now sporting their handy-dandy bug cages they they just got from Wal*Mart. (Josh’s old one was broken.) The new ones came with a mini flashlight, a pair of plastic tweezers, and a magnifying glass. Since Josh’s old one came with a net, they were disappointed that the new ones did not. So I bought the three of them a fish net… So now they race around the yard, in search of something a little more interesting than spiders.

While they were on their bug safari, I was out BBQing burgers for dinner. Well, Joe had bought regular ground beef, instead of extra lean… So the burgers weren’t quite as big as I had thought I had made them. Well, Jared comes up and takes one look at the burgers and says, “Those little things are our hamburgers?!”… Then proceeds to look at them through his magnifying glass, to make them bigger. *sighs* These kids are such stinkpots!!!… Daddy about fell off his chair, he was laughing so hard. *sighs*

Joe was kind of in a grumpy mood for most of the day. I think it started when he found us when he got home from work… When he works at Target, he usually gets off at 11 o’clock. Today he walked in the door at 8:30… And we were all still asleep. For some reason, this REALLY irritated him. I think he doesn’t think it’s fair, because he never gets to sleep in that late… But why should that stop us?!

Then it didn’t help that we made a trip to Christian Supply to buy school books… Joe has issues with buying curriculum. He wants the kids homeschooled. He likes to brag to others that they are homeschooled. He likes that they are getting a good education, and that they aren’t being influenced by the kinds of kids we have in our neighborhood… He just doesn’t like to spend money on the books. He kept following me around Christian Supply, asking me, “How much are you going to buy?” Well… We had already agreed that we were going to use the extra money to buy books. We have less than two months to get the rest of what we need, and I still need to get my lesson plans done before school starts… So I got as much as I could… There are still quite a few things on my list, but they are things that Christian Supply hasn’t had in stock for quite a while. I think I’m going to have to break down and buy them online… I was trying to avoid shipping costs.

Let’s just hope he’s in a better mood tomorrow. We won’t be spending any money tomorrow!

So, have you seen the movie, “The Pacifier” yet? That’s the movie that Joe bought me yesterday. It is really a cute movie!! I loved it! We watched it again today, as a family.

I bought the fabric for two more baby quilts today. I wasn’t happy with Wal*Mart’s choice of flannel. They had a bunch of cute pink fabrics, but both the babies I am making them for are boys. For Josiah’s quilt I ended up getting a solid navy blue, as there really wasn’t anything else to choose from. I find the solids kind of boring. *sighs* I didn’t even buy flannel for Aiden’s (my cousin Lorraine’s baby-to-be) quilt. The navy blue didn’t match the fabric, so, so much for flannel. Lorraine LOVES animals, and I am using puppy fabric for Aiden’s quilt. I just chose another puppy print for the back. I did the same thing for her daughter, Levana’s quilt, because they didn’t find out her sex until she was born. (I made a kitty quilt for Levana)

Hmmm…. Anything else going on? I don’t think so. I think I’m going to go work on Jared’s first year pages. I am almost done with them. I have a TON of new updates on my site.

Today I feel Dandy
Reading: “Love’s Abiding Joy” by Janette Oke
Today it was sunny, and in the 70s

Not a whole lot going on around here today, but I wanted to make sure I got a post in. The kids and I spent the day in the living room watching movies, while I scrapbooked. We watched Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story, Madame Blueberry, Larryboy and the Fib from Outer Space, and Spiderman. The kids were thrilled to watch that much TV, and I had fun scrapping… Though it would have been easier if Amanda didn’t constantly want on my “yap”.

When Joe got home we headed out to Gresham, to Wells Fargo. We are re-doing our mortgage, to get a lower interest rate. We were at 8.25 and we’re now getting 6.4. Plus, this will be paying off our other debt as well, so we’ll only have our mortgage. And even though we are consolidating, our house payment is still pretty much the same as before… So we’ll be saving quite a bit of money each month.

We have one answer to prayer in all this. We’d been praying as to how we would be able to afford the school books we need for this fall. Well, I guess Wells Fargo had set some of the loan money aside for various fees, that we ended up not having to pay. So next Tuesday they will be cutting us a check for a little over $2000.00. We had no idea this was going to happen. So, we’re going to buy all the school books we need, plus we have been promising the girls that we would get them a Power Wheels jeep, so we’ll get that too. The rest will go into savings.

The jeep we’ll be getting the girls is a purple Disney Princess jeep that’s at Wal*Mart. Alicia will be THRILLED, as she’s been eyeing that jeep for some time now. It will be nice having a second one… One jeep, two seats, four kids… Not a good combination!

Scrapbooking Update:

I am now caught up through the end of November 4th. Joshy’s birthday pictures are next… Those will take a while!

Reading: “Love’s Abiding Joy” by Janette Oke
Today it rained, and it’s currently 57º

Today we went on dates with the kids. Daddy took his little girls out to get ice cream, and Mommy took her little men to the movies. We all had a great time.

This morning I looked up movie times at Regal and saw that there were three movies I would like to see. So I gave the boy’s the choice. They could choose between Batman Begins, Herbie: Fully Loaded, and Madagascar… Though I don’t know why I bothered asking, I knew what movie they would want to see. Right away Josh yells, “BATMAN!”… Jared took a little more time with his decision. He gave Herbie some thought, before he too chose Batman.

I liked the movie, though I think I like Spiderman better. Spiderman had more humor, and more romance. Batman is way more intence, keeping you at the edge of your seat. It was very sad in some parts. Good movie though. It was weird seeing Christian Bale playing Batman… He stared in one of my favorite movies, Disney’s “Newsies”. He also stared in “Little Women” with Wynona Rider… So this was quite the different kind of movie to see him in.

Watching Batman got me in the mood for the old Superman movies, which I hadn’t seen in more years than I can remember. So Joe went and got us some Papa Murphey’s pizza, and rented 3 of the 4 Superman movies. (The first one was being rented out. *sighs*) So while we ate dinner we watched #2, and then after Joe and the girls went to bed, the boys and I watched #3. Now I’ll bet the kids start asking for Batman and Superman toys to go with their Spiderman and Hulk ones.

Jared’s pretty funny though. He was a little upset at first, during Batman, when he found out that Batman couldn’t actually fly. Well, as the movie progressed, he got over it. Then, as we were walking out of the theater he says, “Batman is like Buzz Lightyear. He doesn’t fly, he falls with style.” It was so cute.

When we were at Joe’s parent’s house yesterday, they gave us some patriotic t-shirts for the kids, to wear at the 4th of July parade. It was very sweet, and they are adorable shirts. The girls got matching red ones, with a kitten on them, and they LOVE them… But I took one look at the boy’s shirts and thought, “Those are girl shirts.”… Later Joe told me that he thought the same thing. Well, this morning I got brave enough to show the boys the shirts. (They had been in Grandma and Grandpa’s playroom when we got them.) Anyway, both boys took one look at the shirt, declared them girls shirts, and said they weren’t going to wear them. So I told them that they should at least wear them the one time, so as not to hurt Grandma and Grandpa’s feelings… Jared was just about in tears, and later asked Joe, “What if it were you that had to wear a girl shirt? Would you wear it?!” I guess Joe told the boys that they better start praying for rain, so that they could wear their jackets over the shirts!

Anyway, here is one of the shirts in question. (They are both the same):

Does it look like a girl shirt to you?… Oh, the writing has glitter on it too…

Reading: “More Than a Dream” By Lauraine Snelling
and “The Five Love Languages” by Gary Chapman
Today it was beautifully sunny, and in the low to mid 70’s

First off, I’ve been tagged by Jenn, so let’s start with that:

1. Total number of films I own on DVD/video… Do I really have to go there?! I have to admit, that I have hundreds of videos and DVDs… Maybe more than 300. I can’t even count them all, because there are two or three boxes of them in the attic… And those 300+ don’t include what we’ve taped off TV. *sighs* We’re very naughty.

2. The last film I bought: “Father of the Bride – Part 2? (Off the $7.50 rack at Wal*Mart)

3. The last film I watched. “Lucky Seven”, which I borrowed from my SIL.

4. Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me (in no particular order)… Does this mean my favorites? Hmmm… I LOVE “Ever After”, and “Anne of Green Gables”. Also love “The Prince and Me”, “Kate and Leopold”, and “Half a Dozen Babies”… And so many more!

5. Tag 5 People… I don’t know if I can… How about Antonia, Tammy, Dani, Sue, and Mardell.

I’m very tired this evening. I think I’m going to hit the hay as soon as I’ve finished posting.

We all spent the day outside in the back yard today. The sun was too glorious not to be out in it. Joe and I got some serious yard work done, and now my lower back is aching… But things are beginning to look nice.

Joe started working on a brick patio that we want to make, so that we can have somewhere to put the kids pool, that won’t kill the grass. He got it lined out, and started pulling out the grass and stuff. It’s going to be a lot of work!

I got a LOT of weeding done, and we’ve started to add a brick border along the flower garden. We also thinned out the tiger lillies. They are beautiful, but they were getting VERY thick. We still have a lot, though I must have taken out about half of them. It was kind of sad to see them go, but I admit, it does look better.

The kids really enjoyed playing in the yard while we worked. The boys spent half the day playing “space travelers”. They were pretending that the swings were space ships, and they were going to Mars and Jupiter, etc. The faster the swings went, the faster their space ships were.

Alicia pretty much amused herself. She played with Amanda some, and played on the swing-set some. She played in the dirt a LOT! Very typical!

Amanda played in the playhouse quite a bit, then eventually made her way to where I was. She sat next to me, and “pulled” weeds too. It was so sweet. I kept giving her hugs, and kissing my little helper… A little later she gave me a heart attack, by climbing up the slide on the swing set… The slide mind you, not the steps leading up to the slide. When she got near the top, she got too scared to move. Silly girl!!!

Well, I think I’m off to catch me some Zzzzssss… Have a great one!
